KETO Bulletproof Coffee

Keto Bulletproof Coffee. It is filling, caffeinated and KETO. It revs your motor in the morning and keeps you feeling full until well past lunch. Some advocates swear it helps with brain function, but I’ll just say it gets me going, leaves me feeling very satisfied which helps with dieting and leave it at that.

What is Bulletproof coffee?

I first saw Bulletproof coffee about 4 years ago when Tim Tebow made a cup on his Instagram account. It is steaming hot black coffee, protein or collagen powder, liquid stevia- I like vanilla flavored, full fat half and half, heavy cream and butter. I know- butter.

If you have ever tired Bulletproof and had a slick of oil on the top, you are dong it wrong.

Yes, bulletproof coffee has butter in it- don’t worry- To eliminate the oil slick, whip in or froth it in a high power blender. I have researched and tried about 8 different ways to make this little caffeinated concoction, but this recipe seems to work best to avoid the oily slick on the top of your coffee.

Ingredients in Keto Bulletproof Coffee:

  • strong black coffee
  • collagen or whey protein powder
  • full fat half and half or heavy cream
  • stevia sweetener
  • vanilla extract
  • unsalted, extra creamy butter
  • pink salt
a container of heavy cream and stevia vanilla drops

Special Equipment needed for this recipe:

  • A Ninja style or heavy duty, high powered blender- buy my favorite HERE
  • Coffee maker
  • an insulated hot beverage thermos or mug- I love mine by YETI

Pro- tips for great Keto Bulletproof Coffee:

  • Try heating your coffee and milk product in the microwave for 20-30 seconds before blending to have an extra hot Bulletproof experience.
  • Hand held milk frothers do not create the volume of a blender. For best results use a high powered blender.
  • If desired, Almond milk adds a nice rich flavor, but be certain to buy unsweetened. This will add a lot of carbs.
  • I like using a rich half & half, but many other recipes called for heavy cream. I just found the cream a bit too heavy.
  • To sweeten- try liquid stevia. I like vanilla creme flavor. Thanks to Tim Tebow for this tip.
  • In my testing, Tillamook unsalted extra creamy and Land O’ Lakes extra creamy butter had the best flavor.
  • Hands Down Straus Family Creamery won the half and half testing. You can buy Straus at Albertson’s, Safeway and Rosauers. It was insanely rich and extra creamy.
  • Add a dash on cinnamon or vanilla extract for even more great flavor.
  • The best time of day to have this coffee recipe is around 10:00am. It is not intend to be a breakfast substitute.

  • 1 scoop whey collagen protein

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or full fat half & half

  • 1 TBSP unsalted, extra creamy* or organic butter

  • half a dropper of vanilla creme Stevia

  • pinch Himalayan pink salt

  • 8 oz hot, strong coffee

  • Add ins for more great flavor
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract


  • In a microwave proof cup or container, heat coffee, half and half in the microwave for 20-30 seconds.
  • In a blender, combine all ingredients. Whip until frothy- about 10 seconds. Serve immediately .
