Hi! I’m Meggen.
My love for entertaining began when I was in seventh grade and threw a surprise party for my mother (I did have to fess up about it so she could buy the wine).
I have been blissfully married to Hunky Hubbie for 34 years. We have three brilliant adult daughters (all of whom are off the company payroll) as well as two incredible son-in-laws, and one “they’ve been dating for 12 years — will they or won’t they?” honorary son-in-law.
For the last 20 years, we’ve split our time between our home in Northwest Montana and our downsized dream house in Winter Park, Florida, but in 2022 we loaded up the wagons and decided to “Go West”, making Montana our full time home.
Living in Big Sky Country and near the Pacific Northwest, I find inspiration in the rivers, forests and mountains. Be it a backyard wedding for 70 under a billowy white tent filled with foraged ferns and homegrown flowers or Bloody Mary’s after a Fourth of July float down the Swan River, I love to entertain.
When I’m in Florida visiting family, my southern roots really show. The china, crystal, and sterling are on my dining table most evenings. I do not use paper napkins. Ever.
During the summer, you’ll find me at the Whitefish Farmer’s Market and other pop up markets selling my hand crafted Apple Cider Vinegars and Fair-Trade Vanilla Bean products. Look for our online store soon.
On the weekends, you’ll find me watching college football, hiking, or baking shortbreads stuffed with local Strawberries or making a mushroom soup with plants foraged from our property.
I’m so glad you’re here! I hope you leave feeling inspired by my Pine & Palm Kitchen.
