Spicy Saltine Fire Crackers Recipe: Simple is Better
Whether you call these yummy little snacks, fire crackers, Alabama Fire Crackers or just Baked crackers, you know when you have a basket full of them, they will be devoured.
I take the basic recipe and cut the sodium in half, but keep all of the flavor and heat.
Ingredients in Spicy Saltine Fire Crackers:
- box of saltine crackers
- salt, pepper, cumin, red peppers flakes, cayenne pepper, Italian herbs
- garlic powder and onion powder
- olive oil
Equipment needed:
- gallon size x zip top bag
- rimmed baking sheets- buy my favorite HERE
Why you do not need ranch dressing to make Spicy Crackers:
In the other online versions of this recipe, they use a whopping 2 cups of olive oil and 4 TBSP of ranch dressing. That means a typical serving of 10 crackers will have 760mg of sodium and 41.8 grams of fat. .
My version is every bit as flavorful but has only 400 mg of sodium and 21 grams of fat. And chances are- you probably have all the ingredients in your pantry.
How to serve Fire Crackers:
- serve with dips like my Spinach Dip
- with your favorite seafood chowder
- delicious with chili
- alongside Roasted 4 Tomato Soup
- perfect with a refreshing cocktail like Big Sky Ranch Water OR
- Spiked Chai Lemonade
