Friday Cocktail Hour: Homemade Irish Cream

Better than Bailey’s

This is a fantastic homemade cocktail mix that takes only minutes to whip up. You barely need a recipe.

Just combine a can of sweetened condensed milk, cream or half and half, a bit of espresso powder, chocolate syrup, vanilla and Irish whiskey in your stand mixer, mix on low speed, pour into an airtight bottle and chill.

It lasts up to two weeks in the fridge. Pour over ice and yum!

So good. It tasted just like Bailey’s Irish Cream- but better.

This makes a wonderful gift during the holidays or really anytime.

Cheers to the New Year! Happy 2022 everyone.

I used Kilner bottles purchased at my local hardware store on the canning aisle

Homemade Irish Cream

  • 2 cups half & half or heavy cream

  • 1 can of sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 cup Irish Whiskey

  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp instant espresso powder

  • 1 TBSP chocolate syrup- I used Hersey’s

Method- Total time 5 minutes

  • Mix all the ingredients in the bowl of a stand mixer or large bowl. Mix on low speed until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  • Pour into an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Shake the mixture well before serving.
I know it’s a calorie punch- but I prefer heavy cream for this mixture. You can use half and half as well.
Mix on low- thats’ it.

I gave out several of these bottles over the holidays.
