All About this Irish Cream Cocktail:

This is a fantastic homemade cocktail mix that takes only minutes to whip up. You barely need a recipe. This batch will last up to two weeks in the fridge. Pour over ice and yum! So good. It tastes just like Bailey’s Irish Cream- but better. Who wouldn’t love this indulgent gift during the holidays or really anytime?

Ingredients in Homemade Irish Cream

  • half and half or heavy cream – the decision rests with you and your cardiologist.
  • sweetened condensed milk
  • Irish Whiskey
  • Vanilla Extract
  • instant espresso powder
  • chocolate syrup

How to Make Homemade Irish Cream:

Combine a can of sweetened condensed milk, cream or half and half, a bit of espresso powder, chocolate syrup, vanilla and Irish whiskey in your stand mixer, mix on low speed, pour into an airtight bottle and chill. Done.

Mix on low- thats’ it.

Other Homemade gifts to make this season:

I know it’s a calorie punch- but I prefer heavy cream for this mixture. You can use half and half as well.

How do you make this recipe dairy -free?

You could substitute coconut milk for the half and half and perhaps a dairy free sweetened condensed milk like Let’s Do Organic.

How can you reduce the amount of sugar?

That is a tough one. I have not tried to reduce the sugar.

Can you make this alcohol free?

Yes- omit the whiskey and add in an alcohol free spirit like Ritual Zero Proof whiskey.

How long does this last?

This recipe will last up to two weeks in the fridge, but I promise you’ll drink it all before then.

I gave out several of these bottles over the holidays.

How to Serve Irish Cream:

  • Serve over ice in a beautiful cut crystal glass
  • Pour over ice cream
  • Spoon a shot into your tea, coffee or Espresso martini
  • Serve alongside shortbread cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups half & half or heavy cream
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup Irish Whiskey
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp instant espresso powder
  • 1 TBSP chocolate syrup- I used Hersey’s

Instructions

  • Mix all the ingredients in the bowl of a stand mixer or large bowl. Mix on low speed until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  • Pour into an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Shake the mixture well before serving.
