Our kitchen in Montana is built around a fire engine red AGA range (be still, my beating heart!). The heat on an AGA range is always “on,” providing warmth throughout the entire kitchen — perfect for the long, harsh winters in Northwest Montana. We use this cast iron, enamel-coated workhorse to feed visiting friends all summer long. Here, I create recipes based on what we forage in our woods or find at our local farmer’s market, like my Pacific Northwest wild mushroom soup or huckleberry buttermilk pancakes. Food is hearty and healthy and inspired by the glorious Big Sky wilderness around us.
