Big Mac Tacos

The iconic burger from your childhood, but served on a warm tortilla to create a Big Mac Taco- so much fun to make and devour.

How do you make a Big Mac into a Taco?

The secret is in the sauce. No kidding. Make a tangy sweet and sour sauce with pickles, onions, vinegar, mayo and a few spices. Then press super flat smashburgers on tortillas. The beef cooks up in a flash on a hot pan or griddle like a Blackstone. Top with cheese that melts fast like a Colby jack- this is not time for a fancy pants cheese. You want this kind of trash-. trust me.

Top with all the Big Mac fixings like shredded crunchy lettuce, tomatoes, and loads of dill pickles. Slather that Secret Sauce on top and dig in. This Smashburger Taco went viral for a reason- it is so good! I’m lovin’ it.

Tips for great tacos:

  • Use fresh flour tortillas. I refer the taste of wheat with this smash burger.
  • Find the leanest beef you can- if the pan is too greasy, it can splatter and make mess and an even messier taco.
  • Wipe the pan down with paper towels in between batches of frying the beef.
  • For a really great Secret Sauce, make it a day ahead and keep in an airtight glass container in the fridge.
  • Shred your iceberg lettuce very thinly.
  • To help the cheese melt, cover the pan with a tight fitting lid.

The iconic Big Mac from your childhood wrapped into a warm tortilla and served up like a taco. Complete with Special Sauce, this is one dinner that is nothing but fun to make and devour.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb extra lean ground beef

  • 1 package Flour tortillas

  • 1 large tomato, sliced

  • 1/4 cup Dill pickles

  • 1 cup Shredded iceberg lettuce

  • 8 Colby Jack Cheese slices

  • For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish

  • 2 TBSP mustard

  • 1/4 cup chopped onion

  • 1 tsp white vinegar

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp garlic salt

  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Directions

  • Combine all the sauce ingredients and chill.
  • Roll beef into 7-8 small balls.
  • In between two layers of parchment ,roll out the beef into a thin layer. Transfer the beef onto the tortillas, Leave about 1” border around the edge of the tortilla.
  • In a hot non stick or cast iron skillet, cook the beef & tortillas- beef side down for about 1 minute or until the edges are crispy. Flip and place cheese slices on top of the beef. Cover and cook for 10 seconds until cheese melts. Repeat with each tortilla. Wipe the skillet clean with paper towels in between each batch.
  • Fill tortillas with lettuce, pickles, tomatoes and the sauce. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • It helps to make the beef patties if the ground beef is extra cold.
  • Use lean ground beef or the mixture will be too greasy.
