Florida Pamplemousse Martini

Happy Friday everyone. For this weekend’s Friday Cocktail, I am choosing a refreshing and fun martini.

My friend, Tim Varan at Tim’s Wine Market, turned me on to Pamplemousse liqueur a few years ago. Being a native Floridian, the idea of a preppy pink grapefruit martini is pure heaven in a glass. Here is my recipe for my version of a Greyhound Martini or Pink Pamplemousse.

Pamplemousse martinis served in vintage crystal

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce vodka (I prefer Genius Drive Vodka by the Winter Park Distilling Company)

  • 1 ounce Pamplemousse grapefruit liqueur

  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed ruby red grapefruit juice

  • Splash of mint-infused simple syrup

  • Muddled mint leaves

  • Ice

An citrus cocktail for a Florida girl- not too sweet

Directions

  • Combine all ingredients into a martini shaker. Add ice. Shake vigorously until martini shaker becomes frosted.
  • Strain and serve. Garnish with extra mint leaf or a thin slice of grapefruit section.
