Common Questions

Where do I find Everything but the Bagel seasonings?

In the spice aisle of most major grocery stores, you can find this spice mix. Publix, Trader Joe’s, Kroger, and Safeway all carry this product.
If you’ve had it on your shelf for a while, give it a smell. The sesame seeds in the mix can spoil and go rancid. I store EBTB spice mix in the freezer once opened.

Does this recipe work with chicken thighs or breasts?

Yes- you will need to bake it much longer. Use a digital thermometer and check the meat at the thickest point. Once the internal temp reaches 165 degrees F, the chicken is cooked through and safe to eat. For thighs, bake for about 40-45 minutes. For breasts, bake for 60 minutes. Cover the chicken for the first 20 minutes to prevent burning.

If I don’t like chicken skin, can I remove it?

Yes, the crust will not be as crunchy, but you can remove the skin. Double dip the chicken in the egg u0026 coating to build up more of a crust.

Will olive oil work instead of butter?

Olive oil will burn if left in the oven for a long time. Butter adds much more flavor and coats the chicken better making a silkier sauce.

  3. After the first dipping in egg and then flour, and you let it rest for 5 mins. Then you say to repeat. Do you mean the egg and flour again or only the flour? Thank you!
