Hi! I’m Meggen.

My love for entertaining began when I was in seventh grade and threw a surprise party for my mother (I did have to fess up about it so she could buy the wine).

I have been blissfully married to Hunky Hubbie for 32 years. We have three brilliant adult daughters (all of whom are off the company payroll) as well as one son-in-law, one soon-to-be son-in-law, and one “they’ve been dating for 10 years — will they or won’t they?” honorary son-in-law. Our lovable 9-year-old golden retriever Deacon rounds out the bunch.

For the last 20 years, we’ve split our time between our home in Northwest Montana and our downsized dream house in Winter Park, Florida.

Living in Big Sky Country and near the Pacific Northwest, I find inspiration in the rivers, forests and mountains. Be it a backyard wedding for 70 under a billowy white tent filled with foraged ferns and homegrown flowers or Bloody Mary’s after a Fourth of July float down the Swan River, I love to entertain while there.

When I’m in Florida, my southern roots really show. The china, crystal, and sterling are on my dining table most evenings. I do not use paper napkins. Ever.

On the weekends, you’ll find me watching college football, hiking, or baking shortbreads stuffed with local Plant City Strawberries or a tart Calamondin pie with fruit from my own trees.

I’m so glad you’re here! I hope you leave feeling inspired by my Pine & Palm Kitchen.
